Meet Yichen Zhang: a new PhD Student Pioneering FeFET-Based AI Solutions for Ferro4EdgeAI

Yichen Zhang recently joined the Ferro4EdgeAI project as a PhD student at Delft University of Technology (TUD). Zhang’s thesis “Ultra-low power, energy-efficient AI engines based on Computation-in-Memory utilizing FeFET technology” and research focus aims to enhance AI systems' energy efficiency, making them ideal for edge computing applications, where power efficiency is essential.

Yichen (Ethan) Zhang will work in close collaboration with Yashvardhan Biyani on the design, implementation, and prototyping of FeFET-based microarchitectures, which are crucial to advancing the Ferro4EdgeAI project. This work will play a key role in driving the development of energy-efficient AI systems - a sector that has seen an increasing demand over the last years.

His four-year PhD, January 2025 - December 2028, will take place at the Computer Engineering Laboratory at TUD in Delft, the Netherlands.

We’re looking forward to seeing the progress that Yichen Zhang will make and the contributions he will bring to the Ferro4EdgeAI project in the coming years.
