Namlab gGmbH at the Biannual Meeting of the Spanish Physics Society 2024

Suzanne Lancaster (Namlab gGmbH) was invited to give a talk at the Biannual Meeting of the Spanish Physics Society 2024, in a special symposium entitled Ferroelectrics: From Fundamentals to Applications, held in Donostia/San Sebastián, Spain, 15.-19.07.2024.

The symposium was hosted by Ignasi Fina (ICMAB), Javier Junquera (Universidad de Cantabria) and Jacobo Santamaria (UCM). The topic of Suzanne’s talk was ‘Reliability and multilevel switching in ferroelectric devices’, relating to WP2 of Ferro4EdgeAI (Multilevel device behaviour for MLC operation). The talk covered the impact of imprint on multilevel switching, polarization switching on different timescales and programming schemes which can mitigate reliability effects. This spurred stimulating discussions on the impact of internal fields in ferroelectric devices, investigating multilevel behaviour with piezoresponse force microscopy and intrinsic vs. extrinsic origins of multilevel switching. Other invited speakers included Sayeef Salahuddin (UC Berkeley), Jorge Iñiguez (LIST), Laura Bégon-Lours (ETH Zürich) and Martí Checa (Oak Ridge National Laboratory). Jordan Bouaziz (INL) was also in attendance and Grégoire Magagnin from the group gave a talk on HZO for nanosupercapacitors.
